I have to say, I wasn t a fan of Sasha s side of the story Not because she was a spoiled little rich girl quite the opposite, actually Not because she was a drama queen which she wasn t but drama always seemed to find her Not because she just couldn t make up her mind about the boys flocking around her it was just one boy but she actually couldn t really make up her mind, so that s partially true I just didn t like her voice I didn t find all that much compelling about it and when it ended, I was glad to be out of her head. Now with that aside, I liked everything else I actually really liked Sasha as a character Despite her upbringing, she s pretty grounded in reality and thinks for herself I really liked that about her She s an immensely loyal person and doesn t cave on her laurels very easily She swayed back and forth with Antoine because of what her parents would think but considering everything else she could have done considering her parents, I think that was pretty minor and I could easily accept it as a character flaw She s a very strong willed girl and I wish there were like her in YA all around I just did...

I just loved how well Ms Arthur combines paranormal with real life drama Not with over dramatic stuff, but everyday real stuff that people go through every single day.We meet Sasha who s life is nothing but what is seems She is drenched in a world that she totally dislikes and wants nothing part of it Sasha meets Antoine and is having an extremely hard time fighting the attraction to him Things get complicated and she must face the question, what really matters What really matters when it comes to a relationship I know now and days people are much lenient when it comes to dating people of other races But some people are extremely old fashioned and don t think its is right to stray outside of your race, your class, your people, etc Sasha is faced with this situation time and time again in this book She wants to go with her heart but faces trouble when her parents questions why she is hanging out with that thug.I loved that Sasha is strong and fierce She knows what she wants, keeps herself out of trouble, and makes good grade And even though she is a richie, she does not degrade everyone who is not She is all around friendly Sasha sticks up for her friends, and her love, fighting her parents all the way.The paranormal part was awesome I love the whole aspect o...

So far I m liking it I m just getting to the good part Mystify is the second book in Artist Arthur s Mystyx series I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed Manifest, the first in the series Mystify is told from Sasha s viewpoint and continues to take us on the adventure that this little group of teens, the Mystyx have been thrown in Neither of them is certain of their purpose yet, but they do recognize that they have at least two things in common a birthmark in the shape of an M and the second being that they each have a power. In Mystify, Sasha learns that her power is the ability to astral project She figures this out haphazardly one night while she s in bed thinking about Antoine, a black boy who lives across the tracks, and finds herself at a dance club with him but somehow she s left her body at home in bed Sasha, is a supposed Richie, so someone her parents demand that she hang out with the right kind of people, do the right kind of activities, not someone who wants to date Antoine and who s best friend since elementary has been Jake, a Trackie By trying to keep her parents demands in check she finds herself alienating her friends and Antoine However, the Darkness brings the four friends together and now the Mystyx needs to learn ...

Mystify by Artist Auther Early Review.Reviewed by Moirae the fates book reviews.Sometimes being an outsider is the best way to fit in Sasha Carrington has grown up feeling like an outsider, and her parents are too concerned with scaling the Lincoln, Connecticut, social ladder to even notice her They d be really horrified to know about the supernatural abilities Sasha and her friends Krystal and Jake possess But as part of the Mystyx, Sasha has found her place. Now her parents have suddenly taken an interest in everything she does, and their timing couldn t be worse Sasha s father wants her to become BFFs with snooty Alyssa Turner, who hates Krystal for stealing her boyfriend Then there s Antoine Watson, the boy Sasha has liked forever, the boy her parents would never approve of But with the dark side getting dangerous by the day, and the Mystyx s own powers growing in unexpected ways, Sasha is facing choices that could affect her friends, her love life and even her destiny Book synopsis provided by goodreads.com In the second Mystyx book, we get to know a bit about our friends I wasn t a huge fan of the first book, but I gave this one a t...

I m having a giveaway for this one on my blog, open till February 7th Click here to enter. In the previous book you had Krystal as the MC Admittedly, she was a bit of a whiny brat at first, but she redeemed herself in the end in my opinion and I could sympathize with her I thought it was interesting that they discovered their powers and was looking forward to knowing about them and seeing them developing said powers In this one, we focus on Sasha, who seems somewhat clueless Her parents are forcing her to team up with a girl she doesn t like at all for something that s not that important and she doesn t know how to say no, even though she is completely against it She doesn t know how to really stand up for herself to them and is slowly realizing that not making up your mind can be a decision as well And that it does have consequences Like Krystal, she redeems herself and becomes a stronger character because of it.One thing I noticed in both books these kids have some seriously messed up parents I already had issues with Krystal s mom and dad, but Sasha s are equally strange Makes me feel even grateful for the family I have myself I mean, it s pretty harsh for your parents to force you into a friendship with someone you absolutely do not like because they want to get...

I reviewed this book from an Advance Reader Copy from Netgalley. This is quite a short, quick, fun read and just like the previous book Manifest, reads a lot like a collection of journal entries. Our narrator this time is Sasha Carrington, who we first met in Manifest through Krystals eyes Sasha is another teenager who gets pretty much whatever she wants but I found her instantly likeable and less whiny than Krystal Sasha has a good sense of fairness and is willing to stand up for what she believes in, in the end.Sasha has a lot on her plate distant parents, bitchy girls at school and her first teenage crush is something of a starcrossed lovers scenario a boy from the wrong side of the tracks Then there are her growing powers and the small matter of the darkness that is coming for her and her friends. There are lots of interesting ideas throughout the book, but I think it was perhaps a little too short and had a feel of being something to set the scene ready for the third book There s just enough to keep you interested and by the end of the book the scene is well and truly set for an epic battle between light and dark but this particular book seemed ...

Source Received from Netgalley Many thanks goes to the Netgalley team for sending me a copy of this book for review I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review My rating 3 5As the daughter of one of the wealthiest couples in Lincoln, Sasha has her share of woes Her parents only pay attention to her when they want her to do something for them, and they don t understand her relationship with her friends Sasha has a lot to handle when her parents force her to buddy up with one of the meanest and cattiest girls at school to help draw attention to her father s new exclusive club all on top of her emerging powers in the Mystyx Sasha must juggle the needs of her family as well as her own budding talents, and the attention of her longtime crush Will she be able to find out what is going on, before things take a turn for the worse Mystify picks up a few short weeks after the end of Manifest Sasha comes to the forefront and we see how she reacts as she, Krystal and Jake learn about their budding powers and the entity they must face Sasha is a believable...

If you were on the fence about the first book, then rest assured that this entry will put you solidly in the crazy about Mystyx camp Sometimes being an outsider is the best way to fit in Sasha Carrington has grown up feeling like an outsider, and her parents are too concerned with scaling the Lincoln, Connecticut, social ladder to even notice her They d be really horrified to know about the supernatural abilities Sasha and her friends Krystal and Jake possess But as part of the Mystyx, Sasha has found her place. Now her parents have suddenly taken an interest in everything she does, and their timing couldn t be worse Sasha s father wants her to become BFFs with snooty Alyssa Turner, who hates Krystal for stealing her boyfriend Then there s Antoine Watson, the boy Sasha has liked forever, the boy her parents would never approve of But with the dark side getting dangerous by the day, and the Mystyx s own powers growing in unexpected ways, Sasha is facing choices that could affect her friends, her love life and even her destiny I liked the first book in the series, but I have to admit that I enjoyed this book than the first one Sasha s a pretty tough cookie a little assertive at times than Krystal was in the first book Although I do have to say that Krystal seems to be coming into her own in this book as wel...

Reason for Reading next in the series.I really enjoyed book one of this series but wasn t too taken with the angsty attitude of the main character and narrator, Krystal My favourite character had been Sasha, who had an attitude but the fun, take no nonsense from anyone kind of tude Imagine my delight to see that this book was written from Sasha s point of view.Unfortunately, the change in character views really changed the plot of the story and it took me a while to get into this book Sasha is not only the narrator, but the main character of the book, Krystal has a minor part But the fun Sasha I loved from the first book is changed in this book, because the girl s rich, never present parents have returned with a new project for the community and they want Sasha to play a vital role This is all about the Richies and Sasha is vehemently told off by her overbearing father about her choice of questionable friends and told she will do what she has been told to do This causes a riff between her and the other members of Mystyx who think that Sasha has become uppity about her social status when a hated rich girl starts hanging onto Sasha through her father s doing. This is absolutely not the time for this to be happening to Sasha as her powers are becoming stronger and she is gaining new ones, learning much about who they are and what their purpose is The strained relationships make it hard for them to work together when the Darkness returns and bodies ...
